Secunda’s parkrunners can look forward to events over the festive season

There will be a parkrun on January 1, 2026, to celebrate the New Year.

The Secunda parkrun had 275 parkrunners walk, run or jog the 5km parkrun event 484 on December 6. The first three men to finish were Pienaar Janse Van Rensburg on 19:20, Alfred Moloi on 22:36 and Willie-Uys Janse Van Rensburg on 22:55.

The first three women were Elsje Jefferies on 25:08, Leané De Wet on 25:31, and Anja Pistorius on 26:16, making this her personal best time.

Volunteers, Jannie Botha, Kobus Botha, Rina Botha, Geoff Butler, Paul du Plooy, Gerhard Engelbrecht, Sophia Grobbelaar, Qenan Jefferies, Reuel Jefferies, Rex Jefferies, Salomé Jefferies, Zedec Jefferies, Ettienne Kotze, Lettie Le Roux, Louis Le Roux, Dean Moore, Celia Reyneke, Johann Reyneke, Amanda Thomas, Colin Thomas, Riaan Venter, Hennie Viljoen and Petro Wehmeyer were thanked for their volunteering services and for making this event happen.

Fifteen first-time parkrunners were welcomed to the Secunda parkrun family.

The parkrun takes place every Saturday at 8:00 in PDP Kruger Street, by the picnic spot next to the green strip area between the Sasol Recreational Club and Kruik Gemeente. There will be a parkrun on January 1, 2026, to celebrate the New Year.
