MECs lead school support visit to GMM, following Sizwakele’s 91.9% matric success

The Mpumalanga MEC for Education, Lindi Masina, accompanied by Govan Mbeki Executive Mayor Nhlakanipho Zuma, Health MEC Sesekane Manzini, and Social Development MEC Nompumelelo Hlophe, conducted a school support visit to Sizwakele Secondary School in eMbalenhle on February 5.

The visit followed the school’s outstanding performance in the 2025 National Senior Certificate examinations, where Sizwakele achieved an impressive 91.9% pass rate.

During the engagement, the MECs commended the school for the remarkable achievement and reaffirmed the government’s continued support to sustain academic excellence.

As part of efforts to restore dignity, pride and hope among learners, Masina donated 50 full school uniform sets to deserving learners. Sanitary towels were also distributed, and eye screenings were conducted.

“This initiative forms part of the Social Protection, Community and Human Development Cluster’s approach to fostering a one-stop service delivery model throughout the province,” said Masina.

She added that the visit further demonstrated the department’s ongoing commitment to strengthening school support, uplifting learners and ensuring the provision of quality education across Mpumalanga.
