Calvin Parker welcomed as current chairman for Round Table Secunda 231

The Round Table Secunda 231 induction dinner saw the new committee introduced and the Round Table members awarded.

The Round Table Secunda 231 hosted its induction dinner at the Snooze-A-Lot Guesthouse on January 31. This annual event introduced the new committee and awarded Round Table Secunda 231 members.

Past chairperson Jaco ‘The Jackal’ Swarts thanked members for a great year. He then handed the torch to current chairperson Calvin ‘The Brave and the Bald’ Parker, who was honoured to help grow the Table under his leadership, and warned members that he would grind them long and hard.

“We’re ready for it. We are a group of hard-headed, strong-willed nerds and hooligans. The best of us is the ‘Tabler of the Year’, Carl van Staden, the G.O.A.T,” said spokesperson Reece Palmer.

The Round Table Secunda 231 also introduced new awards for its women: Leg of the year and social butterfly, both of which went to Liza Schoonhoven Parker.

Carl van Staden is the tabler of the year. Laurens Maritz received the stirrer spoon for the year and the trophy for project of the year.
The biggest spender of the year was Alec Senekal.
