Suspect in Secunda shooting now in custody

He drove with his lawyer from Nelspruit to Secunda today, October 30.

The man suspected of shooting his estranged wife and her son (6) in Secunda on October 26, has handed himself over to the police today (October 30).

Ndumiso Wisdom Ndimande (33). accompanied by his lawyer, reported to the Secunda Police Station just before 18:00. The lawyer phoned the Secunda detectives from Nelspruit this morning with word that Ndimande was willing to give himself over. The duo drove from Nelspruit to Secunda where Ndimande was arrested.

Ndimande had been on the run since Thursday night.

He is suspected of shooting his estrange traditional law wife, Nobantu Joyce Nxenye (38) in the chest and neck. She is currently in the intensive care unit of Witbank Hospital. Police confirmed that she had been shot about eight times.

Her six-year-old son, Philasande Sishayo, sustained a bullet wound to the lower right leg when he run to his mother where she was on the floor in entrance to the main bedroom of her townhouse in Fraser Street.

Ndimande allegedly fled in his white Toyota Avanza.

Ridge Times reported on October 29 the police launched a manhunt for Ndimande as they believed he was armed and dangerous.

The police must still confirm when Ndimande will make his first court appearance.
