SAPS confiscate weapons at Leandra school

No arrests were made, and the weapons were booked to the SAP13.

The Leandra SAPS, in collaboration with the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, confiscated weapons from Vukuqhakaze Secondary School during the Safety in Schools campaign on January 24.

According to Constable Nontobeko Ngubeni, the Leandra SAPS spokesperson, the visit was one of many programmes the department has with its stakeholders to ensure safety in schools.

Some learners were found with dangerous weapons or dagga.

Ngubeni said the police and CPF members searched the school and found weapons and dagga.

The learners who brought these items to school were identified and booked for counselling with social workers.
Ngubeni said there were no arrests, and the weapons were booked into the SAP13.
