Newborn’s body found in a bucket in eMbalenhle

A newborn baby’s body was found in a bucket that was dumped in a stormwater canal in Ext 18, eMbalenhle, last night (July 29).

The body was under rubbish which was then covered with white plastic inside the bucket.

A man searching for the recyclable materials, discovered the body with the umbilical cord still in tact.

All role players were summoned to the scene and the baby was declared dead.

The police have not yet commented.
