Man gunned down in Evander

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and head.

A man was shot dead in the driveway of his house in Belfast Street in Evander on January 19 at about 21:25.

 

According to Sergeant Zuki Mxhotyelwa, spokesperson of Evander Police, the man went to a funeral in Tzaneen on Friday and returned to Evander on Sunday.

 

He then called his wife to open the gate for him.

 

As she opened the gate, she heard gunshots and remained inside of the house.

 

The neighbours who also heard the gunshots went outside of their house.

 

They saw a white VW Polo driving away.

 

They contacted a security service and the police.

 

The man was found dead with multiple wounds to his chest and head.

 

10 Cartridges were found on the scene.

 

The police are looking for the suspects or anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects.
