Bronkhorstspruit SAPS conducts an awareness campaign on N4 and R25

As part of the awareness campaign, 90 leaflets, addressing domestic abuse, assaults, hijackings and the dangers of hitch-hiking were distributed.

The office of the visible policing commander of the Bronkhorstspruit Police, Lieutenant Colonel Sibonisile Mlaba, coordinated an awareness campaign.

It was in collaboration with Social Crime Prevention, sector managers, traffic wardens and the Department of Community Safety’s safety ambassadors on January 30.

“The awareness campaign was on the N4- and R25 on- and offramps, toward Emalahleni.

The team focused on crimes that occur on the N4, such as robberies, assaults, hijackings and public drinking,” said Constable Cathrine Ramovha, the communication officer for Bronkhorstspruit police.

As part of the awareness campaign, the team distributed 90 leaflets addressing domestic abuse, assaults, hijackings and the dangers of hitch-hiking.

During the campaign, officers found a 37-year-old unidentified woman on the N4 highway. She was transported to the Bronkhorstspruit Hospital for medical assistance.

“The police will assist her to find her family,” Ramovha said.
