Cullinan cops grab hijackers on New Year’s Day
During the search, an unlicensed firearm with live rounds, a red bag containing a variety of tools as well as balaclava was discovered.

The Cullinan Police arrested three men for being in possession of a hijacked vehicle, an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Members were performing routine patrol duties at 02:00 on January 1 when they noticed a suspicious-looking white VW Polo with a broken window.
The vehicle was parked by the roadside and three men were standing next to it.
According to a media statement issued by Sergeant Connie Moganedi on behalf of the Cullinan Police Station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Christiaan Gertzen, more backup was called and members searched the vehicle.
During the search, an unlicensed firearm with live rounds of ammunition, a red bag containing a variety of tools as well as balaclavas were discovered.
Further investigation revealed that the white VW Polo was hijacked.
At the time of going to print, the trio was set to appear in the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of the possession of a hijacked vehicle, an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition.
