Many athletes compete in Sasol Marathon in Secunda
Colin Khoza takes victory in the 42.2km race.
Collin Khoza of the Mbombela Marathon Club, won the 42.2km race of the Sasol Marathon Club held on Saturday, February 18 at the Sasol Recreation Club.
Khoza finished the race in 02:28;20 and Siya Mqambeli of the Entsika Athletics Club finished second with a time of 02:29;08 and Jefro Sithole of Nkangala Marathon Club finished third with a time of 02:35;55.
Melissa van Vuuren from the Hollywood Athletics Club, was the first woman to cross the finish line with a time of 02:59;04 while Annerie Wooding of the Murry & Roberts Running Club finished second with a time of 03:02;06 and Kathy van Meter of Ubora Club third with a time of 03:05;45.

This was Sasol’s 43rd yearly Sasol Marathon and it is a popular qualifier for the Comrades Marathon as well as the Two Oceans Marathon.
Runners could choose to take part in a 10km race, a 21.1km race or the long 42.2km race.
Sasol’s Media and Public Relations Specialist for Regional Operations and Asset Services, Sibongile Khumalo, said this race plays a critical role in promoting a culture of physical wellness through sport and recreational activities.
