Refrain from taking law in own hands warns Cullinan SAPS
“Without legal authority such people undermines the authority of the state or indirectly render the police service inadequate and should they be found, they will be charged and will have to face the law.”
Following several incidents in which people suspected of a crime were assaulted, the Cullinan Police urged the public not to take the law into their own hands.
The station commander of the Cullinan Police, Lieutenant Colonel Christiaan Gertzen, warned the community not to mete out their own justice.
“Without legal authority, such people undermine the authority of the state or indirectly render the police service inadequate and should they be found, they will be charged and will have to face the law,” said Gertzen.
“The community should rather work jointly with the police to avoid unlawful conduct.”
