55 athletes participate in parkrun in Standerton

Mbuso Mazibuko completed the distance in a time of 22;35, followed by Andiswamahlubi in 25:27 and Johan Ferreira in 25:31. Juma Kadar registered a time of 26:05 and Theo Schönfeldt 26:07.

Elmien Vermaak took charge of the parkrun on Saturday, February 25 just before 08:00 to covey the rules for the event.

Altogether 55 participants took on the slightly altered 5km, with two athletes improving their times and one first-timer seen.

A visitor from Roodepoort was welcomed.

Juma Kadar registered a time of 26:05 and Theo Schönfeldt 26:07.


Sasol 1 and 2 come out tops in weekend matches played


Wassie Rossouw crossed the finish line in 28:35, while Pieter Grobbelaar registered 28:40 in his 50th event.

Part Jayram also participated in his 50th and completed the route in 28:55, with Gengan Govender crossing the finish line in 30:26, also the 50th event.

Ilse Ferreira completed her 50th as well in 30:41, followed by a first-timer, Brenda Beckett in 30:46.

Charl van Wyk, Frans Vermak, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley and Vihanda Steyl took up positions to ensure a safe and smooth event.

The event at the Standerton River Park is free of charge.
