Cyclists take on Cosmos 3-in-1 in Secunda
The downpour of rain, combined with the wet and muddy terrains, did not deter cyclists from competing in the Ultimate 3-in-1 MTB race, also known as the Cosmos 3-in-1, on March 25.
Despite the downpour of rain and muddy terrains, cyclists competed in the Ultimate 3-in-1 MTB race, also known as the Cosmos 3-in-1, on March 25.
The 100km race, done in three stages, kicked off at 06:30 from Lake Umuzi. The first stage was a 70km track, followed by a 33km and ending in a lap race.
Bagging the first-place win in the men’s category was Gustav Basson with a time of 04:06:35. He was followed by second-place winner Eben Swart finishing in a time of 04:32:42.
In third place was Jaco van Vuuren at a time of 04:36:10. Valne van der Merwe was the first woman to cross the finish line with a time of 07:05:40.

Karin Wilkins finished in second place with a time of 07:22:05. In the junior division, Eben Binneman finished first with a time of 01:34:15.
He was followed by second-place winner Milan Snyman with a time of 01:50:31.
Third place went to Jean Kruger, timing 01:55:20.
