Parkrunners enjoy event in Secunda
Athletes achieve new personal best time at Secunda Parkrun.
Leopold Middelberg (82) was the oldest parkrunner on July 8 at Secunda Parkrun’s 362nd event. Middelberg completed his 90th parkrun while Sophia Grobbelaar (80) was the oldest woman parkrunner to cross the finish line.
Grobbelaar was also the parkrunner who completed the most parkruns with 310 parkruns in her bag.
The other parkrunners who achieved new milestones are Flip Nel who completed his 100th parkrun and Louis Conradie and Sheldon Pillay for completing their 50th parkrun.
Kayla Bezuidenhout, McKenna Lategan, Werner de la Guerre, Hendrik Schoeman, Elsa van der Merwe, Yolisa Kutyiswayo, Sinovuya Soji, Zelda Snyman, Sinovuyo Gcwabe, Lynette Berry, Hettie Glen, Ansie Knell, San-Marie Cronjé, Frans Maritz, Lucy McLaren and Karen Moore ran their best times.

Liane Parkes was the first women parkrunner to cross the finish line with Kayla Bezuidenhout finishing second and McKenna Lategan third.
Willie-Uys Janse van Rensburg was the first man parkrunner to finish the parkrun with Francois van Tonder finishing second and Hennie Kotze third.
The organisers of the Secunda Parkrun thanked the volunteers, Kobus Botha, Henriette Janse van Rensburg, Ettienne Kotze, Lettie le Roux, Louis le Roux, Rikus le Roux, Siwan le Roux, Cecile Moore, Dean Moore, Celia Reyneke, Johann Reyneke, Margie van Straaten, Riaan Venter, Wege Viljoen and Collen Williams for their support and said without them the parkrun would not have been possible.
