People die in explosion in Secunda
Three others were injured of which two were airlifted to other hospitals.
The carnage from an explosion at a scrapyard near the Secunda dump site, made it difficult for emergency workers to determine the number of fatalities.
The explosion shook the scrapyard before 09:00 this morning, August 10.
According to a source, body parts were scattered everywhere on the scene making it difficult to determine how many people died. Authorities suspect it to be two.
Three other people were taken to hospital of which two were then airlifted from Mediclinic Highveld and Laerskool Trichardt to other hospitals.
It is believed that scrap metal containers had exploded while the workers of the scrapyard were trying to open it.
