Women in Eloff celebrate Women’s Day in prayer
Schoeman gave a powerful and inspiring testimony about her struggles who as a young child suffered abuse by a close family member and as a teenager who gave birth to a disabled son.
Women from Eloff gathered at the Eloff Hall to celebrate National Women’s Day on August 9. Cathrine von Molendorf, an Eloff resident, organised the morning of prayer.
“I was disappointed when we arrived at the hall because there was nobody. I soon spread the word and women came flocking from everywhere,” said Von Molendorf.
Yolande Schoeman from Eldamah Ministries spoke to the women about daily and too-common struggles, such as abuse, drug addiction and poverty.
Schoeman gave a powerful and inspiring testimony about her struggles who as a young child suffered abuse by a close family member and as a teenager who gave birth to a disabled son.
According to Schoeman, she eventually gave her heart to God and things began to change.
“Of course, there are still struggles, but I do not have to carry the load by myself anymore,” Schoeman said.
“You too can change your life,” she told the women.
Prayer and ointment followed, where the women enjoyed traditional vetkoek and a cold drink.
Von Molendorf said the morning was one of positivity and rejoicing.
“If only one of the women could change their lives, it would have been a success,” she said.
Von Molendorf thanked her sponsors.
