Case against Secunda security officer postponed to October in the Evander Regional Court

It is now postponed to October 3.

A Secunda security officer appeared before the Evander Regional Court on September 11 on a charge of murder.

The case was moved from the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on August 18 for a provisional regional court date in the Evander Regional Court.

It is now postponed to October 3.

The case comes after an incident when the security officer, who works for a local company, allegedly shot and killed a man on November 23 last year on Nelson Mandela Drive.

ER24 treated the man on the scene and rushed him to the hospital. He later died from his injuries. The security officer, who also received treatment for injuries he sustained, was arrested on the same day.

According to the police, the firearm used in the incident belonged to the security company that employed the security officer.
