Video footage in case against school’s financial officer is shown in Evander Magistrate’s Court
Court postpones case to January.

Adelaide Denny, who used to work in the financial office of Highveld Park High School more than a decade ago, again appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on November 30 on charges of fraud and house burglary.
Video footage of Denny and two men entering the admin offices on a Sunday afternoon in 2013, was shown in court on Thursday.
Denny allegedly hired the men to help her remove financial files and other things from the school before auditors would have audited the school’s books.
The police received an anonymous phone call in 2013 of files they found behind the school’s stage in the school hall, which looked suspicious. The auditors eventually audited the books and concluded there were discrepancies.
Because the police were at that stage already investigating allegations of fraud against Denny, they found the files very suspicious and investigated further.
Denny was arrested in 2013, but the case was struck off the roll. It was placed back onto the roll earlier this year.
The court also began going through Denny’s bank statements from 2012 and 2013 and amounts ranging between R4 000 and more than R100 000 were paid into her account from the school’s account.
The case was postponed to January 15 and 17.
