Criminals brought to book in Standerton

A white Hyundai H1 minivan and white Golf were the getaway vehicles.

Kasselman Security Services (KSS) sent an alert on April 10 after two suspects with red shirts ran from Meyerville towards the industrial area on railway tracks.

According to KSS, this happened after an attempted robbery of a Grade Nine learner. Both suspects were arrested.
KSS also reported an attempted house burglary at a house on the intersection of Kruger and Coligny Streets on April 7.

According to KSS, suspects attempted to enter the premises but were unaware that the owner was home.
They ran away towards Leyds Street and the owner gave chase.

The intruders fired shots at his vehicle and then fled in a black Toyota Corolla sedan towards Walter Sisulu Street.
According to KSS, the homeowner sustained minor injuries.

Meyerville did not escape unscathed the same day. According to KSS, the suspects were at a premises in Strydom Street where a burglary took place.

One suspect was arrested, while one was still in the building. He was apprehended afterwards. In another incident on April 6, a robbery took place on Joubert Street.

According to the information, four women and two men were involved. A white Hyundai H1 minivan and a white Golf were the get-away vehicles.

There were no registration plates on either vehicle and they fled in an unknown direction. The robbers tied up the homeowners inside the house.

“A syndicate, as in the past, is possibly involved,” KSS said.

KSS requested anyone with CCTV footage to assist. According to Jandré Kasselman, the company deployed guards at certain properties in Kosmospark and Florapark. The empty Eskom houses in the area have been vandalised in the past.
