Another eMbalenhle teen drowns in quarry

This is the fourth child to drown in eMbalenhle in the past month.

A 16-year-old boy drowned in a quarry in Ext 22, known as Gate 7, today.

Community members residing near the quarry told the Ridg Times that a group of boys were swimming when one of them drowned.

 

According to the residents, this is the third child to drown in the quarry.

 

They said in 2018, two children drowned in the same quarry.

 

This is the fourth boy to drown in eMbalenhle in the last month.

 

Delta 1 Rescue Diving recovered the teen’s body this afternoon.
