Trailer stolen in Bronkies recovered in Sundra
The suspect claimed he had been instructed to collect animals from an auction in Sundra using the trailer and was allegedly unaware that the trailer had been reported stolen.
An alert was received from the SNIPR licence plate recognition cameras at around 15:50 on June 21, flagging a trailer reported stolen in Bronkhorstspruit.
Members of the AfriForum Delmas Valke Neighbourhood Watch were immediately dispatched, while members of the Sundra Bulldogs were also alerted and mobilised to assist.
Shortly after the alert was circulated, the Sundra Bulldogs successfully identified and intercepted the vehicle, which was being towed by a white Isuzu KB bakkie.
Members of the Valke’s proto team arrived shortly thereafter to provide support. Upon their arrival, it was confirmed that the suspect had already been apprehended by the Bulldogs.
The suspect claimed he had been instructed to collect animals from an auction in Sundra using the trailer and was allegedly unaware that the trailer had been reported stolen.
He was detained and handed over to the Sundra Police, while the trailer was booked in at Camp 13 for safekeeping.
