Motorist injured in serious accident on N17 between Trichardt and Bethal Toll Gate

The injured motorist was treated by ER24.

Emergency services responded to an accident scene on the N17 at Trichardt near the scrapyard towards Bethal at around 1:30 this morning (September 14).

The accident involved two vehicles. One of the motorists was trapped in the wreckage and the Jaws of Life had to be used to extricate him.
ER24 treated the patient on the scene and then transported him to a hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle escaped with no injuries.

A preliminary investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
