Secunda pakrunners get moving on New Year’s day

Everybody is welcome to join the parkrun on Saturdays at 08:00.

Parkrunners welcomed the new year by running or walking 5km on January 1.

Colin Louw was the first man home, completing the parkrun in 19:56. Pieter Janse van Rensburg finished second in 19:57, Sergio Willemse was third in 19:57, Pierru Meyer was fourth in 20:14, and Johannes Welman was fifth in 21:33.

Jay-Dee van der Walt was the first girl to cross the finish line in 22:33.

Arline van Staden finished second among the women in 22:46, while Maryna Bijker was third in 23:06. Emma du Plessis was fourth in 23:55, her personal best time.

On January 3, parkrunners again competed, and Janse van Rensburg was the first man to cross the finish line, completing the 5km in 19:24.

Meyer followed in 20:04, Rikus le Roux was third in 20:19, Alfred Moloi was fourth in 21:59, and Johannes Retief was fifth in 22:03.

Lianke Folscher was the first woman to finish, running the 5km in 25:43. Zané Badenhorst followed in 25:56, and Mia-Né Smit came third in 26:27.
