Athletes enjoy parkrun in Standerton

Anybody is welcome to join the parkrun every Saturday at 08:00 at Rivierpark.

Standerton parkrun on May 30 saw 65 athletes taking part.

Bongane Mpokane was the first man to cross the finish line and the first overall athlete, while Thabo Tsotetsi finished second, Jayden Kent third, Ayanda Dlamini fourth, and Mxolisi Dludla fifth.

Patricia Mudau was the first woman to cross the finish line, while Nikelwa Ndabeni finished second among the women, Lesney Molepo third, Petro Jaars fourth and Mashabane Nomuzi fifth.

Maggie Beytell joined the milestone club for completing her 50th parkrun. Sean Jansen van Rensburg stepped up as a volunteer for the 250th time.

The parkrun director, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, thanked all the volunteers, including Catherine le Roux, Daniel Wright, Elmien Vermaak, Ida Mouton, Johannes Vosloo, Koos Grobler, Marjorie Uys, Nadine Hoop, Renette de Sousa, Sean Jansen van Rensburg, Susan Bertrand and Sylvia le Roux.

The parkrun is open to anybody every Saturday at 08:00 at Rivierpark in Standerton.
