Charl Cilliers police arrest 2 for murder following missing person investigation

Two people have been arrested and charged with murder after the body of a missing man was discovered at Valksfontein Farm near Charl Cilliers on June 2.

According to Charl Cilliers police spokesperson Sergeant Nompumelelo Dlamini, the deceased’s family reported him missing at the Charl Cilliers Police Station, prompting the opening of a missing person case.

Police immediately launched an investigation and, together with members of the local community, conducted a search for the missing man.

During the search, the victim’s body was found in the veld.

The matter was then escalated to a murder investigation. Following further police investigations, two suspects were arrested in connection with the killing.

Dlamini confirmed that the suspects have been charged with murder and are expected to appear in court soon. Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
