Bethal’s AfriForum wants to take action

AfriForum gives municipality time until 31 October to fix the problems in Bethal.

This letter is for the purpose of informing the public of issues arising from Bethal that are causing serious safety concerns for the people and the actions AfriForum will take should the situation not be rectified by the prescribed time.

The safety concerns in Bethal are dangerous potholes on the roads, open manholes, sewage problems, uncovered electrical boxes and substations, street lights not working, streetlight and electrical poles falling over and electrical cables are not lined according to legal standards.

Should the municipality fail to comply with these basic standards of keeping the residents of Bethal safe by 31 October, AfriForum will step in for the community and get contractors to do the job the municipality should be doing.
