Like everyone else, I am now trying one of the last resorts, to complain.
The traffic light at Albany Bakery was flicking red on 24 November and the next morning, it was still flicking red.
The traffic was backed up as we all had to wait our turn.
No traffic officer was in sight and I eventually went under the railway bridge on my way to Trichardt and to my surprise I saw a traffic officer at the junction before the four way stop.
You will not believe it, but she was regulating the traffic that was basically standing still.
One tries and phone the 017 638 0600 number.
The phone rings until it eventually cuts out.
I phoned just after 8am and the woman answering the phone, could not speak English and she found it very difficult to understand me.
I asked for the chief in charge, Pindi I believe her name is, or the second in charge and I was told that they were all out.
I think maybe they were having breakfast somewhere, because they were not doing what we pay them to do.
Hester Denny, Secunda.
