Bethal Independent Primary School principal thanks community

Community stood by principal.

I am the principal of the Bethal Independent Primary School.

I was involved in a motorcycle accidents in front of the Sasol Garage on Tuesday, 9 March.

I was in a condition of shock and it took a while before I got back my senses.

However, the goodwill I experienced from the bystanders of all races gave me a glimpse of what a wonderful community we have when they work together.

Somebody brought me a bottle of water and when I went to the shop to pay for it, I was told that it was paid for by a man in a red shirt.

I want to thank everyone for their help and support.

This made me realise what a wonderful country we will have once people learn to overcome their prejudices and just begin working together.

This will make our country the great place it can be.

We must just accept that there is space for all of us and we only need to begin respecting one another and work together.

I pray that I may live to see this day arrive soon.

Greatful resident, Bethal.
