In regard to the continuous complaining about Skukuza camp that is too busy and too noisy, I have to share this.
We booked in at Skukuza campsite last Thursday.
After setting up camp, I went to the bathroom and a fellow camper asked me if I was there for the rugby.
My reply was: “I am here because I want to get away from it.”
There was a 7s rugby tournament held at Skukuza.
My initial thought was: “So much for peace and quiet.”
We all know that a group of boys will definitely make a big noise.
There were apparently 16 schools participating and quite a few of those were camping as well.
So later in the day the next surprise awaited us as we returned to camp.
One of the schools, Hoërskool Hoogenhout, pitched their camp next to us.
Our immediate thoughts was that our weekend was ruined, but we were pleasantly surprised.
Today I must compliment the boys, their teachers and their parents.
They were so well behaved and quiet.
We hardly heard or saw them.
I finished school at Hoërskool Hoogenhout 35 years ago and can say that I am proud of the young men from Hoogenhout.
