Let us drive and walk safely

Pedestrians, don't drink and take to the roads.

Lindokuhle, Ermelo:

After an accident I saw last Friday night in Church Street in Ermelo where a drunken pedestrian was hit by a car, I felt the need to warn motorists and pedestrians.

There have been a number of accidents in that street and many of them fatal. I’m now uncomfortable using Kerk Street, as too many lives have been lost there.

I wish to call upon motorists as well as pedestrians to be extra careful and reduce speed while driving there.

To pedestrians, don’t drink and take to the roads, be cautious when walking in the streets and remember that the festive season is upon us.

It is everybody’s responsibility to be safe on our roads and keep our roads safe.
