Mpumalanga Cue Sport celebrates 21years
Mpumalanga Eight Ball and Cue Sport honours their members.
SECUNDA – Mpumalanga Cue sport had their first awards evening on Saturday, 21 November at the Sasol Recreation Club.
The 21st birthday for Mpumalanga eight ball was also celebrated and 120 guests attended the formal event.
Among the important guests were Messrs Sath Reddy, Tinus Venter, Charles Whalstrand and Marco Bender.
Mr Reddy is the president of the national Black Ball Federation, the South African Sports Federation and the All Africa Pool Association.
He is also the vice president of Black Ball International.
The Mpumalanga Eight Ball president is Mr Tinus Venter.
Messrs Charles Whalstrand and Marco Bender were the founding members of Mpumalanga Eight Ball in 1995.
They are both former Mpumalanga presidents.
Joseph Mtsweni, Mzamo Ntlaringe and Mabuti Mbotyeni were selected to represent South Africa at the 2016 world championships in Blackpool, England in June.
Mzamo Ntlaringe won the Eight Ball Open Championship for the second time and Secunda’s Marcos Pool Club won the Mpumalanga Cue Sports this year.
Jacobus le Roux, Jan Ferreira, Hendry Erasmus (Mpumalanga Cue Sport, 9 Ball Snooker,, Black Ball president and Eight Ball vice president), Joseph Mtsweni and Thabo Taljaard are members of the art of Mercos Pool Club.
Adam Nel received the award of Junior Eight Ball Junior Champion.
Hendry Erasmus, Jan Jacobs and Thabo Taljaard were part of the Mpumalanga Cue Sport Team of the Year, as well as the Mpumalanga Snooker Iboson Champions of 2015.
Mpumalanga and Pool Billiards South Africa will host the 2016 South African Eight Ball Championships at Graceland Casino and Lake Umuzi.
