Secunda Taekwondo bags 58 medals

Taekwondo students from various clubs participated in the ATA Regional Tournament on 23 April in Secunda.

SECUNDA – JP Vorster from Victory Taekwondo Family Centre in Secunda, won three gold medals at the ATA Taekwondo Regional Tournament.

He is the organiser and chief of this tournament in South Africa.

Altogether 150 Taekwondo fighters from clubs countrywide came together on 23 April at the Sasol Recreation Club to take part.

The youngest fighters were four years old and the oldest one 53 years old.

The ATA Taekwondo Regional Tournament not only allows fighters from the various clubs to gain valuable experience, but it also serves as one of the qualifiers for the South African Championships.

Fighters who do well at the South African Championships, stand a chance to be chosen for the South African National team and can represent the country at numerous international tournaments and championships.

Other students of Victory Taekwondo Family Centre also excelled.

Brian Marais, Savarna Singh, Gert Swart, Jenny Barnard, Marilize Jansen van Vuuren, Zander van der Merwe and Dylan du Pisanie won two gold medals each.

Kaylin Naidoo and Rynhardt Fourie won one gold medal each.

Victory Taekwondo Family Centre won 19 golden, 17 silver and 22 bronze medals.
