Bethal Juventus goes to qualifying round

KINROSS – Bethal Juventus emerged as the winners of the Safa Govan Mbeki play off on Saturday, 14 May.

Goal scorer Sakhile Mabhena finished the goal with his heel after he was passed the ball by Njabulo (Skania) Simelane.

The goal that led to Juventus’ victory, was scored in the last 15 minutes of the game.

Two yellow cards were handed out during the match.

Manqoba Nkambule of Bethal Juventus received a red card in the second half.

The final score was Juventus 1-0 against Shining Stars.

The coordinator of Safa Govan Mbeki, Mr Bafana Sibeko, Bethal Juventus will be representing Govan Mbeki at the qualifying round at Thuthukani, Standerton, on Saturday, 4 June.

He further said it was a very interesting game where both teams showed commitment.

Bethal Juventus’ coach, Mr Veli Radebe, was pleased with the end result.

“It was not an easy game, because both teams were afraid of each other and were hesitant to attack,” said Mr Radebe.

Mr Simon Kodisang, Shining Stars’ coach, said the game was fair, but there was a lack of concentration from the pleayers.

“We are happy with the results, though we created many chances and never capitalised on them.

“The opposition team was very strong,” said Mr Kodisang.
