Team Moore Controls gets first place
The winner of the 2016 Secunda Golf Challenge is the Moore Controls team with 142 points.
EVANDER – Various companies took part in the Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Measurement and Control’ Golf Day at Walker Park on Thursday, 26 May.
The chairman of SAIMC Secunda branch, Mr Johan Maritz, said the branch hosts a golf day annually to raise money to promote the control and instruments profession at high schools, universities and colleges.
“This year we had a full field with 132 players and 23 local suppliers and manufacturers supported the day. Without sponsors we can not raise funds to help these schools,” said Mr Maritz.

SAIMC was first registered in 1962 with a motto that is translated as progress by control.
Since its humble beginnings in the offices at the SAIEE, it has grown to the place where it is now.
The last five years has seen the SAIMC grow into a formidable force in the Industrial Automation Industry participating in automation fairs, standards bodies, tertiary education institutions, government and even local FIRST competitions like FIRST Lego League and FIRST Tech Challenge.
The SAIMC was accepted as a voluntary association with ECSA and has also been given a place on the board of the Automation Federation, giving it world-wide acceptance as a representative of the industrial automation industry.
In addition, part of the SAIMC strategy objectives is to register control and instrumentation as a recognised engineering discipline with ECSA.
