Inkunzi hosts soccer tournament

LEBOHANG – Inkunzi isematholeni hosted a soccer tournament for the U/13 and U/15 Leandra teams.
Eight U/13 and four U/15 teams took part.
The finals in the qualifying round were between Mkhonza FC and Young Stars for the U/15 teams.
The U/13 qualifying round was between Young Stars and Sondela FC.
Mkhonza FC claimed victory with 5-0 against Young Stars and Sondela FC scored 2-0 against Young Stars.
The Player of the Tournament is the nine-year-old Xolani (Sxova) Mahlangu of Sondela FC.
“I am very happy that I received soccer boots as an award for my performance.
“I will show them to my mother,” said Xolani after he had received a new pair for soccer boots.
He began playing soccer when he was seven years old.
Mr Jacob Mtakwende, the chairman of Inkunzi isematholeni, said both teams that claimed victory in the qualifying round, will play at the finals against teams from Bethal, Belfast, Secunda, Charl Cilliers, eMbalenhle, Devon and Leandra.
The qualifying teams will get four balls each and achievement certificates.
Medals and trophies will be received at Lake Umuzi during the finals.
The champions of the last season was Mkhonza FC (U/15) and Sondela FC (U/13) and it remains to be seen who will be the new champions.
Mr Mtakwende urged the Kinross teams to also take part in the Inkunzi isematholeni League.
