Athletes receive awards at marathon club’s prize-giving

Themba Selepe scooped four awards during the Standerton Marathon Club’s prize-giving on 31 August.

Kenny Swart received three trophies, while Richard Sangweni, Boy Mkize, May Mnisi, Heidi van der Merwe and Isiaih Dlamini received two awards each.
Mr Miltas Tshabalala, who won the Two Oceans Marathon in 1991, was the guest of honour at the event.
He talked about his experiences with running and urged the athletes to keep log books.
“It is important to have a log book so you can record all your races and it can also help you to improve your time,” Mr Tshabalala said.
