Zone Mavo shows potential

SECUNDA – Zone Mavo FC’s coach said his team showed potential and he believes they have good players and a supportive chairman.
Zone Mavo played their first match on home ground since their promotion to the ABC Motsepe League.
They will also play their first league match in Witbank on Wednesday, 26 October.
They lost 3-4 against Tjakastaad J Sheppards in the ABC Motsepe League Nedbank Cup.
Four teams played at Secunda Stadium on Saturday, 22 October during which Tjakastaad emerged as the winners and go to the next round.
Zone Mavo won 2-1 against Lumoja FC in the first match.
The goal scorers were Bafana Sibeko, Zone Mavo’s captain, who scored two goals and Sthembiso Mabuza who scored a goal for Lumoja.
The second match saw Secunda Stars playing against Tjakastaad.
Both teams struggled to score and went into penalties.
Tjakastaad won with penalties.
Secunda Stars’ goalkeeper and captain, Lucky Mashawule, deserved to be the player of the tournament after he had saved many goals.
He was assisted by Siyabonga Shabangu who managed to block some of the crucial balls meant for the nets of Secunda Stars.
The last game was between FC Zone Mavo and Tjakastaad.
Sibusiso Mnguni and Bafana Sibeko scored for Zone Mavo.
Tjakastaad came back with full force and scored the first goal by the captain, Bheki Zwane, followed by a second goal by Mduduzi.
Mdu Mtshali scored the third goal for Tjakastaad and the fourth was scored by Bonginkosi Zwane.
Thabo Nhlabathi scored the third goal for Zone Mavo.
The final score was 4-3 in favour of Tjakastaad.
The two teams will also play against each other in the ABC Motsepe Leaguse in Lukwatini in two weeks’ time.
