Sasol 1 cricket makes quick work of Ermelo
Ermelo won the toss and sent Sasol 1 in to bat first as they wanted to take full advantage of the conditions.
SECUNDA – The conditions on Saturday, 19 November suited bowlers as overcast weather would assist with early movement of the ball during the encounter between Sasol 1 Cricket Club and Ermelo.
Ermelo won the toss and sent Sasol 1 in to bat first as they wanted to take full advantage of the conditions.
Johan Scheepers and Dewald Erasmus remained calm and ensured Sasol 1 reaches a defendable total.
Scheepers ended on 53 runs and Erasmus made 41 runs.
Sasol 1 ended with 227 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs.
Batting through the 50 overs in these conditions already put Sasol 1 in a good position with Ermelo having to chase down the 227 runs with a chance of rain in the back of their minds.
Erasmus again stole the show with his bowling figures of 4 for 27 in 10 overs and is proving his consistency in the Sasol 1 shirt.
Ermelo slumped to 150 all out and was not up to the standard which the Sasol 1 bowlers set out for them.
Sasol 1 won the match with 77 runs to push their tally and make them strong contenders for winning the league.
There is a big weekend coming up as top of the log Sasol 1 will play against fourth place Sasol 2 on Saturday, 26 November in what is always a cracker.
