Karatekas shine at championship

Victory Taekwondo Family Centre won 24 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 20 bronze medals.

SECUNDA – Victory Taekwondo Family Centre hosted the Songahm Taekwondo National Championship at Graceland Hotel and Casino during which the top five black belts of each age group competed for the title of national champion.

JP Vorster from Victory won the form, sparring and combat weapons category and came second in traditional weapons.

Erika Vorster won her form and combat weapons category, as did Brian Marais and Savarna Singh in their age groups.

Altogether 200 karatekas also took part in the Family Festival Tournament during which all the ranks competed in their selective age groups.
