Vrede Bowling Team wins Spar Sponsored Day
Each team had three players and there were three matches of twelve ends played.
The Vrede Bowling Team were the winners of the Spar Sponsored Day hosted by the Standerton Bowling Club on 10 December.
The team consisting of: Tiens Zietsman, Tonie Scholtz and Pieter Fourie walked away with the trophy.
The Ermelo Team: Vaino Prinsloo, Fritz Olmnesdahl and Theuns Coetzer were the runners up.
Nuf Straszacker, Sonnie and Handré Kritzinger of the Warden Team claimed third position.
Three matches of twelve ends were played.
According to Elrina Greaves, of the Standerton Bowling Club, ten teams from Warden, Vrede, Secunda and Ermelo entered the competition.
She said Spar donated the food and vouchers for each member of the top three teams.
“They also surprised us with a lovely cake for tea time,” Ms Greaves said.
The Standerton Bowling Club thanked Standerton Spar for their contributions.
