Round Table hosts golf day for young man with cancer

Golf day hosted in aid of a young man who was recently diagnosed with cancer

EVANDER – Round Table 231 hosted a golf day at Walker Park Golf Club on Saturday, 30 June in aid of a young man who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Mr Stefan de Beer (27), a former learner from Hoërskool Hoogenhout, suffered a stroke in May. He was then diagnosed with leukemia.

He and his father, Mr Hennie de Beer, attended the golf day to thank all his old friends and former schoolmates for their support.

The winners of the four-ball alliance played in a format of a scrambled drive two scores to count, are Ella Smit, Cobus Smit, Sakkie Pelser and Ivan Maré on 112 points.

Jurie Lategan, Hannes Henderson, Cliff Snyman and André van Heerden were second on 111 points.

Walker Park Golf Club is presenting their Sanlam Cancer Golf Challenge on 14 July.
