Colin Louw completes Secunda parkrun in 20 minutes
A total of 110 participants took park in last weekend's parkrun.
SECUNDA – Despite wet and muddy conditions, ardent runners, joggers and walkers took part in the 5km parkrun held on Saturday, 8 February.
Even though rain kept some away, 110 participants took part. A total of 16 participants were first timers, 13 recorded this 272th park run their best time. There were four representative clubs present.
The 15 volunteers thanked, are Ms Cecile Moore, Mr Dean Moore, Ms Gill Walsh, Mr Louis le Roux, Mr Brian Moore, Ms Celia Reyneke, Mr Johannes Jansen van Rensburg, Mr Hennie Viljoen, Ms Lettie le Roux, Ms Kate Lapacz, Ms Henriette Nel, Mr Arno Venter, Ms Isabella Stromvig, Ms Melané Roberts and Mr Xolile Khanyile.
The first place finisher was Colin Louw in a time of 20 min 13 sec. Second was Mava Mgweba and third was the first woman to finish, Marthi Harmse, with a time of 24 min.
Tendai Kanoyerea came in fourth with a time of 24 min 15 sec.
