Taekwondo athletes move to next rankings

The testing was to determine athletes moving up in rankings.

HIGHVELD – Taekwondo athletes took part in their first testing done via Zoom on Monday, 8 June, through to Wednesday, 17 June.

The testing was to determine which athletes would be moving up in rankings.

These rankings were from white belt through to red belt. About 50 students took part.

“Being the first test to ever be done on Zoom, there were a few concerns as this is completely different from actually being present when testing is done.

However, everyone did exceptionally well.

“It actually went off way better than expected,” said Ms Erika Vorster.

According to Ms Vorster, there were a few minor hiccups, but these can be corrected once athletes go back into the full swing of things and into physical class.

The testing went so well that a couple of athletes skipped the recommended intermediate rank and moved to the next ranking.
