Experienced new coach for Lekwa City FC
Lekwa City FC is the only football club in Standerton that is competing in the ABC Motsepe League, Stream A.
Lekwa City FC has appointed a coach from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mr Bonnie Kondowe Kasongo, to train the players.
The 46-year-old arrived in South Africa 20 years ago to play for Umtata Bush Bucks in the Premier Soccer League.
He also played in the National First Division for Blackburn Rovers FC for almost six years.
Mr Kasongo coached Matatiele Professionals FC and took them to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup, managed to take Tornado FC from Eastern Cape, and Ireland FC from Kwanongoma KZN to the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup, as well as coaching Bohlabelo Bushbuck Ridge FC and Eastern Cape Highbury FC.
He also worked as an analyst for Acornbush United FC and Bloemfontein Mangaung United FC.
