Golf players take part in Pro Am Tournament at Graceland

SECUNDA – Amateur golf players of 50 and older had the chance to compete against professional golf players at Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club in the Pro Am Senior Sunshine Golf Tournament last weekend.

According to Mr Steven Senekal, the organiser of the tour, this is a worldwide concept and it was a good opportunity for professional golf players to get on the golf course since some of them could not compete in Europe and other places they usually do because of Covid-19.

Some of the professional golf players who took part in this tournament included Chris Williams, Andy Shackleton and Nic Henning.

Among the professional players, Williams own with 78 points while Paul van Biljon finished second with 73 points, Angus Dickson third with 73 points, Laurison Mahlangu fourth with 67 points and Andy Shackleton fifth with 64 points.

The winning team consisted of Paul Kruger, Jan Paulus Kruger and Dickie Miller with 207 points.

Jan Potgieter, Jineane Potgieter and Anton van Dyk’s team finished second with 202 points and Celest Ferreira, Paula Jardim and Lynette Powell’s team finished third with 197 points and Danny Pillay, Romeo Vassen and Rocky Lubbe’s team finished fourth with 193 points.

José Ferreira, Richardo Ferreira and Anton Bosnja finished fifth with 191 points.
