Shooters make quick work of clay pigeon targets at Vlakfontein Shooting Range
“The wind didn’t have too much of an effect, however, the overcast weather made for interesting shooting, especially when high-angle shots needed to be taken,” he said.
Shooters took aim at clay pigeon targets during a fun shoot at Vlakfontein Shooting Range on June 19.
The event was hosted together with Ermelo Defensive Pistol Club (EDPC).
Participants had the chance to put theirs skills to the test by shooting at 10 clay pigeon targets during each shooting stage.
According to Mr Christo Botha, member of EDPC, the angles and distances were changed every round.
“The wind didn’t have too much of an effect, however, the overcast weather made for interesting shooting, especially when high-angle shots needed to be taken,” he said.
Mr Botha added that although no scores were kept, it was obvious that certain shooters had their eye in on the day.
Exceptional hit-ratios were attained by John Whatley, Christelle Whatley and Steve Rautenbach.
