These dancers of Standerton surely have the x-quality
Julincke Wolmarans received both the trophy for Best Modern Dancer as Best Jazz Dancer and shared the Best Senior Dancer trophy.
Dancers of Studio X competed in the Mpumalanga Federational Colours-competition in Secunda on August 18 and performed exemplary.
Each participant was required to do a solo dance, some more than one, to obtain an average of above 85% to qualify for provincial colours.
The results are:
The Move Hip Hop Group, consisting of Hancke Geldenhuys, Twané Kriek, Mianke Liebenberg, Susan Cawood, Mary Cawood and Dané Dreyer obtained 90%.
Hancke Geldenhuys and Margolé Marx obtained 88% in an Invisible Contemporary Duet, while a point of 90% was scored for Joné Botha and Clarissa Botha in a Hawaii Modern Duet.
In the second duet, the dancers received a special award for team work as well.
Elne van der Walt and Rearata Mbonani obtained 90% in a Lullaby Modern Duet.
A point of 93% was scored in a Wonderful World Contemporary Trio consisting of Ntando Phiri, Kaydie Francis and Julicke Wolmarans.
The trio of Carmi Botha, Haylie Smith and Marile Tromp obtained 86% in a Favourite Things Contemporary, while Celine Preuyt and Mianke Liebenberg scored 89% in Stand in the Light Contemporary Duet.
The trio of Susan Cawood, Mary Cawood and Stefny Cawood danced their way to 88% in and Irish Contemporary, while Julicke Wolmarans and Kaydie Francis scored 94% for a Shallow Contemporary duet and received the trophy as best duet.
Do the Mermaid Hip Hop Trio of Carmi Botha, Kiara du Plessis and Dane Roets obtained 87%.
In the solos, Carmi Botha scored 87% for Hop, Clarisse Botha 86% for Modern Solo and was awarded a second place, Jone Botha 87%, Dané Dreyer 90% and 91% for Hip Hop Solos, Susan Cawood 91% for Hip Hop, Twane Kriek 93% for Hip Hop and was awarded a first place and trophy for best Hip Hop-dancer, while Elne van der Walt scored 87% for Modern Solo.
Hancke Geldenhuys obtained 92% and was awarded second place for her solo, while Celine Preuyt scored 92% for a Lyrical Solo, was best Lyrical Dancer, 93% for a Contemporary Solo and shared two trophies for Best Contemporary Dancer and Best Senior Dancer respectively.
Mianke Liebenberg obtained 92% for a Contemporary Solo and was awarded a second place, while Margole Marx scored 93% for a Contemporary Solo and shared the trophy for Best Contemporary Dancer and Mary Cawood obtained 87% in a Modern Solo.
Julincke Wolmarans danced a 91% in a Contemporary Solo, was awarded first place, received a special award for her costume, scored 93% for a Jazz Solo, 91% for a Modern Solo.
Julincke received both the trophy for Best Modern Dancer as Best Jazz Dancer and shared the Best Senior Dancer trophy. wlile Miechke Mostert obtained 88% in a Modern Solo and 90% in a Contemporary Solo, while Rearata Mbonani obtained 89% in Modern Solo and was awarded second place, received a special award for her ‘needle leg hold’, 87% for a Ballet Solo and received the trophy as Best Ballet Dancer.
Stefny Cawood obtained 88%.
All of the above dancers qualified for Mpumalanga-colours.
