Father and son race to podium places at Inland Off Road Championship
“We have two first place victories and one second place, which makes me super proud of this youngster,” his Mostert (senior) said.
Werner Mostert and his eldest son, Ian (16), from Bronkhorstspruit recently took on the Inland Off Road Championship round 5.
The BTS Grain Mariendal 300 was a day of mixed fortunes for the light weight vehicle category, but this father and son who have done three competitions together, managed to have podium finishes.
“We have two first place victories and one second place, which makes me super proud of this youngster,” his Mostert (senior) said.
Ian has been riding since he was four years old and grew up on the track.
“I am fond of speed and it is a great way of spending time with my father while having lots of fun, with adrenalin pumping and challenging myself,” Ian added.
He dreams of becoming a rally driver and has his eyes on the championship trophy for this season.
