Sasol Cricket Club beats Highveld Ermelo Warriors
Man of the match went to Sasol 1 Secund’s Colin van Staden who took 2 wickets in his 4 overs.
It was another great weekend of cricket for the Sasol 1 Secunda and Sasol 2 Bulldogs after beating the Highveld Ermelo Warriors 1 in both matches that was held on Sunday, October 24, at the Sasol Recreational Club.
The first match saw Sasol 1 Secunda take to the green with Highveld Ermelo Warriors 1 batting first and ending on 93/7 in their 20 overs.
Highveld Ermelo Warriors 1’s top scorer was Shaun Roodt who ended on 44 runs off 54 balls.
However, Sasol 1 Secunda proved to be stronger, ending on a score of 94/2 in 9 overs and winning the match with 8 wickets and 12 overs to spare.
Sasol 1 Secunda’s Colin van Staden scored 36 runs off 22 ball not out.
Man of the Match went to Van Staden who also took 2 wickets in his 4 overs.
In the second match, Highveld Ermelo Warriors 1 won the toss and decided to bat first.
Estian Cilliers scored 45 off 35 balls, not out, setting up a target of 134 for Sasol 2 Bulldogs to chase.
Sasol 2 Bulldogs took victory yet again with batsman Nicus Boshoff making 42 runs off 43 balls not out and Christiaan Naude scoring a fantastic 53 of 37 balls.
Sasol 2 Bulldogs won with 6 wickets.
Man of the Match went to Naude.
Sasol 1 Secunda will take on Standerton 1 in the Gert Sibande District Cricket League on Sunday, October 31, at Sasol Recreational Club.
The match will begin at 10am.
