Parkrunners in Standerton are out of the blocks
The first participant to complete the race was Siyabonga Kamhelo, clocking in, out of breath, in a time of 17 minutes.
Participants at the parkrun at the Standerton River Park on Saturday, October 30 went all out for the 5km route.
A warning was given to runners and walkers to be aware of the muddy conditions after a rain storm the previous night.
After a warm-up exercise, the whistle blew at 8:00.
Volunteers took to their positions to ensure a safe exercise for all.
A mother pushed her baby, but had to return without completing the distance when the little one did not enjoy the movement in the pram.
